The Masters 2nd Round Coverage:

Yesterday was one of the most exciting Friday of the Masters in many many years.  With 30 players within 5 shots of the lead (and arguably are champion could be over par at this point, but it is unlikely) we have a tightly knit group of amazing golfers on the most prestigious stage in the world of golf.  I know the words The Best Masters so far gets thrown around a lot during Masters week.  I am still going to say that this is turning out to be the best Masters I have watched in a long time…

So what happened yesterday???? Well my good friend Freddy Couples (not really my good friend, but hes just so darn likeable that everyone feels like Freddy is your friend) shot the low round of the tournament to jump to the top of the leader board at the midway point of the Masters.  Boom Boom had the belly putter working yesterday, and he looked like the man who won 20 years ago (yes it is his 20 year anniversary of winning the Masters in 92) and not the grey haired gentlemen who dominates the Champions Tour.  Keep it up Freddy there is loads of people out there pulling for you.

Jason Dufner is playing the best golf of his life, and as someone who has not won on the PGA Tour (Dufner that is not the Chicago Golf Guy) he does have Major experience.  If a few things had gone a little different we would all be talking about Dufner and not Bradley.  With Dufner’s playing ability, his super putting stroke, and the fact that he has been here before could spell trouble for the fan favorite Freddy.

There are five guys tied at -4 under.  Everyone’s favorite Rory McIlroy, along with the Spaniard Sergio Garcia (who is playing the best golf of his life in my opinion), Bend it like Bubba Bubba Watson, Lee Westwood (who has 5 top 3 finishes in Majors), and Louis Louis Oosthuizen (the 2010 British Open Champion).  That is seven players all at -5 and -4 under par.  You have the world #2, world #3, two guys who have both lost a Major Championship in a playoff, a man playing hard to win after his idol, mentor, and countrymen passed away, a few Major Champions, and a fan favorite that would ignite not only the PGA Tour but the Champions Tour as well if he can pull off the impossible (not to mention set a record that would be very difficult to beat).

So again I am going to close with… this is the Best Masters tournament yet.
