The Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida is still one of my favorite tournaments to watch on TV. The golf course makes a for some great finishes and because its Arnie’s tournament you get most of the big name players to come out and support this event. Although World #1 and #2 (Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy) did not attend this years event, and Mr. Palmer did notice, and was publicly disappointed. I agree, I want to see a McIlroy vs Donald match up, and I would like it to be a preview of the Masters and I want to see a new rivalry start.
Mr. Weekday (that might be the worse nickname to date) Jason Dufner. The man who leads the Florida swing if it were only a 36 hole event. Jason sported a 66 on Thursday and continually beats the field on Thursday and Friday. Charlie Wi also came in with a 66 on Thursday to finish the day tied for the lead with Dufner. Nick Watney, Tiger Woods and Justin Rose all had good showings on Thursday as well. Looks like Mr. Woods may not be the #1 player in the world anymore, but he is still a draw for television and the public (who either loves him or hates him) does love to watch him on TV.
