Round 3 Recap: 2012 Transitions Championship

A pair of US Open winners are atop the leader board at the Transitions Championship in South Florida: Retief Goosen had the low round of the day on Saturday at 65 which jumped him up to the top of the leader board tied for first with Jim Furyk who shot a 66 in his third round.  Lots of top names are within 4 shots of the lead going into Sunday.  Sang-Moon Bae had a wild third round of 68, with 7 birdies, one bogey, and one triple bogey.  Sang-Moon is the man to beat on Sunday in my eyes.  With Seven birdies on Saturday if he plays half as good on Sunday he is going to be hard to beat (forgive me Sang-Moon if I put the Chicago Golf Guy hex on you).

Jason Dufner will be playing int he second to last group, and he could very well pull out his first PGA Tour Victory.  With a pair of 66’s going into the weekend, and an even par 71 on Saturday he is only one shot ouf of the lead at -10 under.  If he can find some of the magic from the first two rounds and use it on Sunday he will have given himself a great chance at being this years Transitions Champion.  Don’t forget about the world #2 on Sunday.  Luke Donald is at -7 under par, and could very well knock out a 4 shot comeback with a stellar Sunday round.
